Lightning Web Security

The latest security architecture recommended by Salesforce brings with it advantages for managed package components. We recommend enabling this setting (ensuring you perform testing before doing so). Salesforce has already begun enabling LWS by default in new orgs. Depending on when your org was created LWS may already be enabled. To find this out:

• go to setup
• search for Session Settings in the quick find search and click on the page
• navigate to the Lightning Web Security Header

During our testing, we identified a minor defect caused by the older security framework. When inline editing a lookup field, after you have selected a record, closing the edit box does not show the selected record. Enabling LWS resolves this problem. As the newer architecture operates in a different way, it can also provide improved performance for managed package components. Please ensure you consider all of the implications before enabling LWS.
